Alarmingly, during the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) inspection, the company paid him the full salary temporarily to deceive the visiting surveyor. Once the inspection concluded, the company's employee, Darshan Pallonji, reportedly coerced Taufik and resumed underpaying him. Such manipulation of official inspections is not only unethical but constitutes a direct violation of the Merchant Shipping Act and MLC regulations—raising serious questions about the company’s compliance and regulatory oversight.

A Culture of Negligence and Abuse This is not an isolated incident. Sources report that Gaur Hari Marine Services Pvt Ltd has a history of unsafe practices. In one tragic incident, a seafarer allegedly lost a finger due to lack of proper safety equipment—an avoidable accident attributed to gross negligence.
