Offshore wind tower factory to come up in Poland

GRI Renewable Industries of Spain and the Polish Industrial Development Agency (IDA JSC or ARP) have formed a joint venture to build a new offshore wind tower plant in Gdansk, Poland.
This investment is predicted to be worth more than EUR 200 million, and production is set to begin in 2025 with the employ of 400 personnel. The planned investment is expected to meet the growing demand for wind towers and the dynamic development of the offshore wind energy market in Poland and the rest of Europe, as well as significantly increase Polish companies' and the Spanish company GRI's participation in the supply chain of offshore wind farm construction in the Baltic Sea.
The offshore tower producing hall will be built on the Gdansk island of Ostrów, with direct access to the mooring quay. It will be created with the capability of producing towers for the biggest wind turbines with capacities exceeding 14 MW. The plant, which was developed and built in accordance with Industry 4.0 standards, will be capable of producing more than 200 offshore towers every year.
