The first stage will entail the collecting and development of extremely realistic 'digital twin models,' including virtual representations of the sorts of ships operating in Shetland and their distinctive features. Researchers will next decide which zero-carbon technology the various vessels may adopt, and then feed the twin models into a digital dashboard that will track the flow of renewable fuels from ‘well to wake’.
