MSC SPENDS MILLION DOLLARS FOR SECURITY FROM SMUGGLING

In the light of previous events world's second largest shipping company MSC has begun spending millions of dollars every year but extra security enhancement. the decision has been taken in the wake of cocaine found on board MSC Gayane  in June 2019. 
 
The total value of the cocaine found on board was $1.1 to $1.3 billion which is the largest in the history of the United States Customs and Border protection agency. It was found that the crew of 10,000  TEU MSC Gayane bought 15.5 tonnes of cocaine on board to transport it to US which resulted in temporary suspension of MSC from the US customs trade partnership against terrorism or CTPAT. MSC expressed apology and described itself as a victim of crime.
 
 MSC council expressed the distress prevailing in the 27,000 plus employees and crew members working at MSC for the unwanted and undeserved incident of Gayane. they also expressed the pride of working at the company. the  council also added that everyone including the company And the agency are victims. 
 
The company MSC has spent millions of dollars to boost the anti smuggling system which includes the expanded deployment of security guard and CCTV cameras on board ship which will be monitored remotely by third party security specialists. The vessel will also be inspected regularly by canine units and diver teams. MSC’s post Gayane incident security investment are more than worth $100 million from 2019 to 2024 the company remarked.
