PORT OF MIAMI WELCOMES CMA CGM ARGENTINA

Port of Miami On 6th of April welcomed the newly made CMA CGM Argentina which is the largest container ship ever to arrive at Florida. This Neopanamax vessel has a capacity of 15,000 TEU. 
 
The vessel’s arrival at the port signifies the considerable efforts that port of Miami has made in last few years to upgrade its cargo facilities. The port has dredged its entrance channel up to 50-52 feet, bought New super post panamax STS cranes, Upgraded the electrical systems like new electrical RTGs at South Florida container terminal and also installed the new on dock rail access. 
 
These upgradations in the port has resulted increase in Miami’s annual container volumes which has exceeded 1 million TEU per year even the port handled a record setting 113,000 TEU in January. This was 20% more than the previous monthly record. 
 
Mayor Daniella Levine Cava Expressed her joy to this and remarked that the Miami-Dade County is a major hub for trade and commerce which also create jobs and opportunities for the community. She added that this would help in building a resilient and strong economy. She also declared the port as a critical point to develop long-term sustainable growth and prosperity. 
 
For the records, the Vessel CMA CGM Argentina arrived via PNYNJ, the Port of Virginia and the Port of Savannah and finally welcomed in Port of Miami.
