Deckhand Missing after Going Overboard

On Sunday 5th of June, the U.S. Coast Guard said it is looking for a towboat crewman in river near Alton, Ohio.

A deckhand from a towing vessel had gone overboard without a life jacket. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Ohio Valley got this report at around 12 p.m. EST. The missing deckhand went overboard somewhere between mile marker 675 and mile marker 700. The male deckhand is described to be 5 feet 10 inches tall, in his 50s and about 280 pounds.

The Meade County Fire Department and Indiana Department of Conservation are amongst the local agency partners with whom the Coast Guard is coordinating the search.
